The Finance (is Fabulous) Team is responsible for influencing the financial future of MPI Northeastern New York Chapter’s vision and mission by raising funds for member services, scholarships, and industry awards. Play a key role in the on-going success of the MPI NENY Chapter by developing, celebrating, recognizing, and thanking the many partner members that serve our chapter by donating cash support or in-kind product support to our Chapter.
The Fabulous Finance Team generates revenue for our Chapter of MPI through several outlets including (but not limited to) in effect that help to make the team and Chapter more successful:
Partnership Liaison - Currently accepting applications.Reports to VP of Finance.Activities to include but are not limited to:
- Coordinating Special Event & Chapter committees that look for individual sponsorships for events and other activities
- Liaise with Education & Special Events committees to determine needs (at beginning, 1 hr/wk developing database, establishing contacts, then could be 1-2 hrs/mo).
- In this capacity you will work closely with chapter leadership to ensure that partners are acquired and honored with consistency and excellence.
- Manages top sponsors to achieve maximized potential of donations and their perceived value from the MPI Chapter and their ROI.
- This team helps coordinate all chapter sponsorship efforts under one umbrella. Mostly phone & email work.
- Solicits and coordinates the chapter's sponsorship opportunities with current and potential sponsors. Insures that each sponsorship is matched with sponsorships that meet both the sponsor's and the chapter's best interests
- Manages MPINENY's newest and largest ventures to benefit the NENY Chapter and our global community.
- Organizes and executes MPINENY's largest fundraising event to benefit the NENY Chapter and a local charity

What are some skills we recommend, but are not required to be a team member?
- Good follow-up with attention to detail. Prospecting/selling experience recommended.
- Persistent, pleasant telephone manner.
- Ability to work with advertising agencies and marketing departments of hotel properties and with vendors of all kinds.
- Research & create database of potential in-kind suppliers for events (décor, linens, rentals, floral, etc).
- Communication with suppliers the opportunities available throughout the year
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Willingness to give time, energy, talents and enthusiasm to get the job done. Ability to interact with membership, sponsors and team members.
- This committee meets every month (mostly conference calls) to check in, brainstorm and organize partnership efforts.
- As a Team Member you can elect to do as much or as little as you have time to do. It could be two hours a month, or if you choose to do more, the choice is yours! Support your team members: the entire team and chapter WINS!
